25 weeks and counting. I think 9 out of 10 people that ask how far along I am say, "no way, you're so little still..." yes I think the consensus is that I am smaller than normal. Maybe I just hold everything in my back rather than my belly! Either way, I feel big! I mean like a whale at times. Every time I flip over from right side to left side in the middle of the night, I wake Gordon up, completely pull off his covers, and it takes me just about 8 minutes each time. Then since I am now awake, I realize I have to pee for umpteenth time!! Pregnancy is awesome!
25 weeks was last week for me, and since G had to work on Valentines day, I celebrated with baby! I do have a new valentine in my life now! To my utter surprise, Gordon bought me some flowers a few days prior, and then the next morning had a gift and card waiting for me! What a stellar guy! I also got him a little goody bag with his favorite candies, a card, and an itunes gift card. We still love each other!
Dear baby bird,
I feel like this pregnancy has gone by so fast. Although the first 4 months seemed like they took forever, just because I was so miserably sick all the time. I can really say that I enjoy the process of being pregnant. You are constantly on my mind, and not a minute goes by with out me adjusting my life for you! it is all worth it! Im not sure what size you are right now, but I know that you are about 9 inches long and weigh about 1.5 pounds. You are still kicking and moving like crazy and sometimes you kick so hard that it scares me!
My belly is definitely growing, but I haven't seen any new stretch marks, or veins down my legs. But I am very very itchy all the time. The weather out here is really dry too, so that doesn't help. I also have formed that dark line down my belly called the Linea Nigra, which is totally normal because of all my hormones, and I have also gotten a ton of new freckles. I have always had a bunch all over my body, but now its pretty extreme. I think they are an endearing quality and i wouldn't trade it for anything. My belly button is still inward, but Im still waiting for it to pop at any day.
My cravings this week have been seafood, including shrimp, crab, and salmon. I also want either Edemame or a boiled Artichoke every night for dinner. Yum, I even want one now as Im talking about it. I am still into Cherry 7-Up and Barq's root beer, but now I also really love Limeade. I think it's the soreness!
We have slowly been purchasing new things for you, getting a list of items that we are still researching, and also debating whether or not to use cloth diapers! A lot of progress has been made since 30 years ago when my mom used them. I am actually really looking forward to using them, They will also keep you feeling fresher and free form diaper rash! I really want that for you, to be a happy baby! Our favorite purchase was a pair of checkered Vans and white Converse for when you are around 3-6 months. It really put a smile on your dads face. Oh and by the way, your dad started drum lessons this week in hopes that he will be teaching you some day! I really love his motivation to learn something new!
We are so excited and anxious to meet you in a few months. Mommy loves you more than anything, and daddy too.
Love always, Mommy.
